Good times, good times...

This weekend was total craziness and total fun. I went to my 10 year class reunion and I would like to say I saw lots of people that I hadn't seen in years and caught up on everyone's life, but thats not the case. I saw a couple of people that I hadn't seen in a long time, but it was mostly me, Aleah, Kari, Stephenie, Curry, Richie and some others hanging out and talking about everyone who didn't come. So, if anyone from the class of '98 who didn't come is reading this, yeah, we talked about you and how you should've been there!!!! We are planning something for FIVE years down the road, so you have plenty of time to get ready. Don't dissapoint us!!! So for Ryan, this weekend was wild for her. She has started getting a cold and is not happy about it. This was also the first time Joe and I left her to go out. We went to the football game Friday night where I caught her a football "WOO-HOO" and a dinner cruise on Saturday night. She stayed with Terah, Kylia and Jaren those nights. They said she did really well except for the cold issue. So proud of her!!! Anyway, here are some pics of Ryan and a couple of the reunion. Enjoy!!!

Crazy for this girl...

I read/watched Rhett's blog today and I love the song that went with the Livvy's video. It made me remember the time I went to Floyd's and saw Evan and Jaron and sang and swayed to that very song. Good times, good times. It also made me think of my little diva and how crazy Joe and I are for her everyday. She is smiling and babbling and laughing lots more. I really feel like if I say "hi" enough to her, she eventually babbles it back. Today we went for a walk with Kylia and I thought (kinda prayed) it would rain. But, it didn't and I chauffeured her around our entire route while she babbled and smiled and eventually wore herself out. Too bad it didn't last longer than 5 minutes (sorry Kylia), we'll have to try again another day!

Recent Events...

This weekend was mostly laid back, the house got cleaned and clothes got washed...so fun!!! While Joe was out, I was at home getting Ryan and I ready to go to Hosford and visit. I went to brush my teeth and put Ryan in her bumbo chair. As soon as I left, I heard her whining but I let her work it out on her own. Whining led to crying and throwing a fit in a matter of seconds it seems so I finished up quickly and went to get my little diva. When I saw her, I couldn't help but laugh b/c she had fussed herself straight to sleep (more like slumped over) in her chair. She just got tired of me and the two minutes (+/-) it took to brush my teeth so she took care of things her own way. Meanwhile, Mrs. Jamie called me yesterday morning and confirmed that yes, Ryan is a genius!!! She is ahead of the curve according to Grandma, already starting to figure out her hands and fingers. Ok, so there are some kinks to work out, but she's getting the basics!! She just is so smart, stay tuned for all of Ryan's upcoming accomplishments!!!

2 month check-up...

Ryan is getting so big!!! We went to the doctor yesterday for her two month check-up and her first round of shots. Ryan now weighs 12.4 lbs and is 23 inches long. She is gonna be a tall little lady, I just know it. We also found out that Ryan has eczema, we thought it was either a mild allergy or something dealing with the laundry stuff we are using but it is none of the above. Lastly she got her two month shots, which I think she did really great. She was sleeping throughout most of the visit but when she got her first shot, she certainly woke up! Thanks goodness mommy didn't cry, because we will have to go back for one more shot. Wouldn't you know they were out of a shot and we have to do this again in two weeks, auggghhhh!!! Its just nice to see that she doesn't look too upset about her ordeal. My next order of business will be to reward her for such good behavior, with a little gift for mommy if the sale is good (hehe)!!!

I'm learning...

To keep a camera with me at all times. This morning I slept in a little late (6:00) b/c the boss is gone this week and Ryan is sleeping for much longer periods so I am definitely taking advantage of it. No getting up at 4:00 AM to feed and work out this week, no sir!!! So anyway, I asked Joe to get her ready for me so that I could still get to work early and get ready for my first bunch of patients and he's laying her on the bed and she's naked all but socks. I tell him to get a diaper on her STAT or she will pee on the bed, he says "no, she doesn't do that with me" and no sooner had he said that when Ryan showed him who was boss by peeing on the bed and he jumped up and said some choice words. I hate to say it, but I told him so!!! I left to get her an outfit and when I came back in the room, Joe was holding Ryan and she was still naked but for her socks and Joe is still yelling b/c his hand is a smidgen damp and he's holding her bare bottom. Well, DUH, it doesn't dry itself!!! It was just such a precious picture opportunity, Ryan was looking my way like she was so embarrassed, but I was laughing too hard to remember the camera. We'll try again tomorrow morning!!!

Sleeping Beauty...

On my shoulder...
On my chest...
In daddy's arms...
With daddy again...
On the floor...

Ryan loves to sleep, it doesn't matter when or where, just as long as it isn't dark and she isn't in her sleeping gown or sleep swing and, she prefers to have someone to keep her company in case she wakes up...Other than that, she's good to go down for the count...

Lunch is on me...

So, Joe finally has a job now and we are so proud of him!!! He started a couple of weeks ago and he's really liking his job. People actually call him Joe instead of Joey like we all call him and that makes him feel really important. He likes to come home and tell me about his day and all the business he is into, but one of the things he always talks about is mediation. He likes to go in and speak on behalf of clients and speak "lawyer talk" with other attorneys instead of reading documents and writing briefs and memos. But the best thing about mediations is that the mediator provides a free lunch to all the people in attendance. Joe thinks that is awesome and he never forgets to tell me which days he gets a free lunch!!! Also, Ryan is getting so big, she is holding her head up for a couple seconds at a time and has consistently been sitting in her bumbo chair for more than five minutes at a time!!! Her head still spins round and round but it is soo funny to watch, especially when she is smiling! Talk about a punch drunk cutie!!!

The Days of Her Life

Remember when all we did was eat, sleep, poop, have someone clean us up and start all over again? Me either, and since Ryan probably won't remember it, I decided to post some pics to one day remind her of how "busy" she was as a baby. She is definitely a busy bee with all she has going on!

Happy Birthday Ryan!

I can't believe that I am now a blogger! I didn't think there would ever be a time that I would feel the need to share info about my life via the internet, but since I have read everyone else's blogs, I figured it was time to get in on the action. So, this first blog is to introduce my brand new baby, Ryan Shuler Longfellow. She was born July 2, 2008. She weighed 7 lbs. and measured 19 1/2 inches long. She is just the coolest little lady in the wide world and Joe and I couldn't be happier! She was welcomed by tons of family members who waited patiently in line to hold her and love her. It was really the coolest thing to see, I remember waiting in line to hold all my nephews and nieces when they were born. It was so funny to see the tables turned and watch everyone do that for my little one! So, this is one of many gifts for my baby girl, Happy Birthday Ryan!!!
