Then and Now...

I get a glimpse of my baby girl...she is growing so big and so fast that I can barely remember how small she used to be when she was first born. I was off work today because Grandma was sick so Ryan and I spent the day together getting things ready for her FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! We returned stuff we didn't need and bought more stuff we might decide to use, overall it was a good day. I felt really productive until the rain came and cut our errands short but thats fine because Wal-Mart cut my money short so I guess it all worked out. We got home after lunch with Joe and played and Ryan finally took a late afternoon nap, this is something she doesn't do often enough for me. I snapped a picture of her and it made me think of another picture of her...take a look at both of these pictures...she hasn't changed much but at the same time she has totally changed!!! Is it just me or is this normal for new moms in "First Birthday Party Preparation Panic Mode?!?!!!" By the time anyone reads this post, I will be two days away from her birthday and three days away from the party, wish me luck because I have been overwhelmed since Easter!!!

Get up and dance!!!

Ryan is getting so big and is doing so many cool things now, we are one week and one day away from her first birthday and I say "I can' wait!!!" but what I really mean is "please slow down baby girl and stop growing, I can't take you getting bigger and older!!!" That said, she still is doing some really cool things like last week she was caught dancing to the music and having a blast. I was watching a DVR show that I had recorded and there was a musical guest on the show. Ryan promptly walked to the TV and started shaking what her momma gave her and danced to the music!!! She did stop to watch me taping her a couple times but overall she just enjoyed the music and enjoyed dancing. I can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve next!

Catch Me If You Can!!

Ok, so I shot this video a few weeks ago, but it is still great to watch and for me to reminisce about how much my baby is growing and just how clever she is getting. I know, I know I sound like an old fuddy-duddy but who cares!!! So anyway, Ryan is loving the bath tub now, she likes to play with her toys and drink the water from the bath. I am an idiot for leaving that cup in the tub. Anyway, she has taken a liking to the soap, I use Dove soap on her because of her excema and so I leave it in the tub while I bathe her. She has started chasing the soap and wants to catch it. I noticed it and thought I would tape her trying to catch it, knowing she would NEVER catch it. Its not the first time and I am sure it won't be the last but she proved me wrong!!! The video ends very quickly because she catches the soap and begins to put it in her mouth and I have to end the tape!!! She is just too smart!!!

Hold on tight...

Ryan is starting to walk!!! We have seen a couple of random steps and gotten them on camera but this video shows bona-fide, independent, on her own walking!!! Last Friday evening, we had given Ryan her bath and dinner and put her to bed, she started off with a power nap and was up for about another hour. She decided to do some walking while she was still up so I never want to let a good video session go to waste. She didn't disappoint!!!

I think this is the video you are talking about. It was taken a few weeks ago and AGAIN involves the purple jelly toy that Ryan is so afraid of. You can see that she did reach out to touch it but quickly backs away. Yeah, thats me taunting her with the jelly toy and yeah, y'all can all think I am a bad mommy but I can't be that horrible. She is smiling in the video after all.

I have something to say...

well, Ryan has something to say. I don't know what it is so if any of you know what she is saying, let me know. She is getting to be such a talker and has so much to say but I haven't the slightest clue what she is saying. Sure, we eventually figure something out but listening to her is the fun part. She seems to have moved past the click only talk but now says so much so fast I just can't keep up. It is hilarious to listen to either way. Y'all take a guess and let me know if you hear any specific request, comment, etc. You know I am more than happy to oblige.
